The Olympic Movement for the Future

About the Olympians Association of Japan

The Olympians Association of Japan (OAJ) was established in September 2003 to promote understanding and friendship among Olympians in Japan and to promote the Olympic Movement as a part of the World Olympians Association (WOA). It also aimed to contribute to world peace and international friendship through sports, and to support the development of sports in Japan.
Japan has produced around 4,786 Olympians between the first appearance of the Japanese Olympic team at the 5th Summer Olympics, held in Stockholm in 1912, and the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics. OAJ is carrying out major projects in an effort to apply Olympians' experience and knowledge to educate future generations.
